Cabrillo and Harbor Claims will work with you during the entire claims process.  Once you report a claim, you will hear back from one of our professional adjusters within 24 hours.

Overview of the claims process 

  1. You may file a claim through your agent, by calling our toll free number, or filling out our online form.  If your property is damaged, we would like to know about it as soon as possible. 

  2. After your claim is received and a representative is assigned, you will then be contacted to discuss the claim. If inspection of the loss is required, the representative will arrange a date and time for the inspection.                    

  3. Once the adjuster has inspected the loss, collected information from you, and reviewed any pertinent documents, receipts, estimates, and photos, a report will be submitted for review.

  4. In the review process, the adjuster will check appropriate coverage with terms and conditions of the policy as they relate to the damages incurred.

  5. Payment will be issued less the applicable deductible.  In some instances, there are coverage restrictions on certain kinds of loss. If it is determined there is not coverage for the loss, or the damage is less than the deductible, you will receive a letter of explanation.


How Long Does It Take to Settle a Claim?

Many claims can be settled under 30 days; claims that involve extensive damage can take longer.  After a hurricane, it can take more time due to the greater demand for contractors, roofers, water damage specialists and others to provide estimates.
